ويتناول بعدها اكتشاف هابل بأن الكون يتمدد، بل ربما يكون لها نهاية حسب نظرية فريدمان. A clean copy in a bright price clipped jacket. The thermodynamic arrow in the contracting phase will not be as strong.

This is probably why Hawking spends so much time talking about black holes because black holes are where the gravitational pull is so strong that not even light can escape from its grasp.

A Brief History of Time (1991)

Does time a brief history of time flow forward. Is the universe unending—or are there boundaries. Are there other dimensions in space. What will happen when it all ends. With exciting images and profound imagination, Stephen Hawking brings us closer to the ultimate secrets at the very heart of creation. Mar 01, 1988 — Hawking's discovery that black holes emit particles caused great excitement among astronomers. In this succinct overview of current theories of the cosmos, the Cambridge University physicist modestly weaves in his own notable contributions while giving due credit to his colleagues. His understanding of time's flow leads him to conclude that intelligent beings can only exist during the expansion phase of our increasingly chaotic universe. New research on black holes and subatomic particles holds implications for scientists who, like Hawking, are attempting to devise a unified theory linking Einstein to quantum mechanics. The merit of this book is Hawking's ability to make these ideas graspable by the lay reader. © Publishers Weekly by Barron1961 I enjoyed reading this book although it took me some time as there is quite a bit to absorb. I appreciate that while Hawking is a well known atheist he actually spends very little time discussing God. In fact, it is not until the last chapter that he really has anything to say about God at all. Hawking seems content to let the reader draw his own conclusions. That was never the point of the book to begin with. Hawking simply sets up a road map showing where the current theories of physics came from and possible destinations as to where science in general and physics in particular is taking us. Albert Einstein, I believe is almost as brilliant, but Hawking's can put impossible to fathom and comprohend thoughts and theories into lamen's terms.

Hawking's descriptions and analogies are spot-on for my taste, and I rarely had to re-listen to any of it to grasp the concepts. Newton's model also meant that stars, like the sun, were not fixed but, rather, faraway moving objects. As the universe expands, its entropy increases. І скрушно додають, що філософи тепер не ті - вважають, що вивчати можна лише мову, а на більше філософія не спроможна. The 15 year old high schooler, whose favorite subject is physics, the 34 year old, who was always curious about space, but eventually gave up on physics, and anyone who wonders when looking at the stars.
